About the club
Greater Seattle Chess Club is an informal, free chess meetup in Seattle. We get together once a week to play casual games over a drink.
How it works
There’s no membership, no dues, and nothing to fill in. Turning up is the entire process. We’re not a rated club — we don’t run USCF tournaments and we don’t track results.
That’s deliberate. Rated play is well served in this area already; what’s harder to find is a low-stakes evening where a beginner and a strong club player can sit down across from each other without it being a big deal.
Who comes
All strengths, all ages of adult, and a wide mix of how seriously people take it. Some regulars study openings; plenty of others just like the game. Both are the point.
Staying in touch
Our WhatsApp group is where each week gets confirmed and where schedule changes get announced. Instagram has photos from recent nights.
